Pooja Agarwal

Founder & CEO, Juniper

“Statement”

Pooja Agarwal's relationship with fashion began long before Juniper. At just 18, she embarked on her first venture—a small saree store born from an instinctive appreciation for Indian textiles, craftsmanship and design. With a background in finance and an innate eye for fashion, she developed an early understanding of both the creative and commercial dimensions of the industry.

What began as a modest retail venture soon evolved into a larger ambition: to build a fashion business that could celebrate the richness of Indian design while giving it a distinctly contemporary expression.

In 2012, Pooja brought that vision to life with the founding of Juniper. Her intent was to create ethnic and fusion womenswear that respected the depth of India's design heritage while responding to the evolving silhouettes, aesthetics and sensibilities of the contemporary woman.

A Vision Shaped by Design

Pooja continues to play an active role in Juniper's creative direction and collection development. Her perspective influences everything from silhouettes, prints and colour stories to the overall character of each collection.

Her design philosophy is rooted in a balance between heritage and evolution—drawing from India's rich visual language while continually reinterpreting it through a contemporary lens.

This philosophy has become central to Juniper's identity: creating ethnic and fusion wear that feels distinctly Indian, yet current and relevant to the markets we serve.

From Vision to Enterprise

Under Pooja's leadership, Juniper has grown within the manufacturing ecosystem of Aman Exports International, a garment manufacturing business with over three decades of industry experience.

This foundation has enabled her to build Juniper as more than a fashion label. It has evolved into a vertically integrated business with the capabilities to take an idea from concept and development through manufacturing, quality and fulfilment, and ultimately into markets across the world.

Her finance background brings a strong commercial perspective to the business, while her enduring connection to fashion continues to shape its creative direction. Together, these perspectives have helped define the way Juniper approaches product, business and long-term partnerships.

Founder’s Vision

“To build a contemporary Indian fashion business that respects where our design comes from, understands where fashion is going, and creates lasting value for the businesses and people we work with.”
